Mazda Rising Legends Campaign
Shoji Whittier

This year, Mazda Canada is continuing its work giving back to Canadian communities. Mazda Canada is providing each qualifying Retailer $2,500 in funds to contribute monetarily to member(s) of their local community who go above and beyond in serving their communities. West Coast Mazda had the opportunity to present a cheque to Shoji Whittier for $1,250 through this initiative.

Shoji has made an incredible difference in the lives of the youth they’ve worked with, bringing both dedication and empathy to each interaction. Through their consistent support, Shoji has helped create a safe and encouraging environment where young people feel heard, valued and inspired.

Shoji was an active leader and mentor in their school community for several years. While their background is in journalism, their true passion lies in supporting youth. Over the past year Shoji has volunteered at the Foundry Ridge Meadows, running the Queer Social events.

Shoji finds joy in helping others build confidence, set personal goals and believe in their own potential. Their commitment has not only fostered personal growth among the youth, but has also left a lasting impression on the entire program. Shoji hopes to pursue a diploma in counselling with the hope of one day becoming a youth counsellor in our community.

Thank you for all the work you do within our community, Shoji!
