Mazda Canada is shaking up its lineup for 2024, announcing it will update the Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport. Vehicles will be more capable, offering drivers a superior driving experience.
Mazda 3
The Mazda3 now comes with a Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre engine as standard that can produce 191 bhp and 186 lb-ft of torque, regardless of fuel type, replacing the previous Skyactiv-G 2.0-litre engine. The motor features cylinder-deactivation technology that adjusts to different driving situations for optimal fuel economy. According to NRCan, the new Mazda3 now has a fuel consumption rating of 8.4 L/100km in the city, 6.3 L/100km on the highway, and 7.5 L/100km combined, significantly improving over the previous iteration.

Mazda 3 Sport GX
The Mazda 3 Sport GX comes with the same Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre engine, but engineers pair it with a six-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can switch to manual shift mode or FWD at the push of a button and benefit from onboard G-Vectoring Control Plus.
Along with superior performance, the GX comes with a host of i-Activsense safety features to help you drive confidently, including Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) feature has been improved to work better at night, and drivers can access Mazda Connected Services for free for two years without paying a subscription. Remote start, lock/unlock, and rear-side airbags are also available.
Mazda 3 Sport GS
The Sport GS is the next model up and adds the full suite of i-Activsense safety features. Drivers can enjoy Mazda Radar Cruise Control, High Beam Control, Pedestrian Detection (forward sensing), Smart City Brake Support Front, Lane Departure Warning System with Lane-keep Assist, and Driver Attention Alert. Additional upgrades from the basic model include dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, a rear centre armrest with cup holders, and luxurious leather-wrapped accents. The GS Luxury package provides additional luxury, including an auto-dimming rear mirror, exterior mirrors with reverse tilt-down function, and a power moonroof.

Mazda3 Sport GT And Sport GT Turbo
The Mazda Sport GT offers all of the GS’s features, Mazda says, plus Bose 12-speaker premium audio, SiriusXM® satellite radio, a heads-up display, Mazda Navigation System and paddle shifters. The adaptive front headlights and keyless entry add convenience, while the 18-inch alloy wheels in dark grey give the car presence on the road.
The Sport GT Turbo variant has enhanced i-Activ AWD and a SkyActiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine, producing 250 bhp and 320 lb-ft of torque paired with 93 octane premium fuel. Further additions include gloss black heated door mirrors, larger tailpipes, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Mazda3 Suna Edition
Lastly, Mazda will update the Mazda3 Suna Edition. The vehicle’s striking aesthetic will include 18-inch black metallic alloy wheels and Zircon Sand Metallic exterior paint for a unique finish.
